Mauritius: Chilli fields attacked by fungi and bacteria

Planters of chillies in Mauritius are currently making wry face, because the harvest to come might be bad.

Fields of chillies are under attack of fungi causing anthracnose disease with the appearance of brown spots that dry the feet. The presence of bacteria * which wither on their side chillies is also observed.
The strong current humidity prevailing in the fields in the wake of recent heavy rain thus favor the spread of these diseases dangerously threatening the profitability of the entire industry in Mauritius.
