Mauritius: Celebration of Durga Puja over nine days for Hindu devotees of the island

Since Thursday morning and during nine days, the Hindu community in Mauritius Celebrates Durga Puja in about 250 temples on the island.
In the program of the faithful fasting, night prayers, reading of sacred songs and books.
The goddess Durga which for devout Hindus the mother of the universe is thus revered at this annual festival of Durga Puja symbolising the victory of good over evil, as reported by the newspaper Le Matinal.
According to Hindu tradition, to defeat and destroy the demons, gods offered their strength Durga.
