Mauritius: Beginning of the murderous year on roads

The first weekend of the year 2013 has been particularly deadly on the Mauritian roads.
Two pedestrians and two motorcyclists were killed in traffic accidents on the island. Four injured, including a serious case, are also listed at the end of the road a vehicle that made several turns before embedding itself in a tree.

2012 was a bad year for the road safety in Mauritius with an increase in fatal accidents. More than 150 deaths were recorded on the roads.
Motorcyclists are hit hard by this road carnage. 169,920 users of two-wheelers share the bitumen with motorists.
