Mauritius: Bats are flying off the price of longanis on the markets of the island

The rare juicy longanis sold for the moment on the shelves of Mauritian market at prices ranging between 250 rupees and 300 rupees* per pound (half kilo). And longanis do not displayed the beauty of tropical fruit as they usually do.
The longanis are thus small, because farmers must pick them earlier on trees due to numerous bat attacks on orchards yet protected by nets according to the professionals are today ineffective.
The flowering season of the fruit tree that was not at the appointment during the season and bad weather of recent weeks also explain the current high price of longanis on the Mauritian market which usually revolves around the 100 rupees book.
