Mauritius: Aurore Gros-Coissy sentenced to 20 years imprisonment for drug trafficking

Aurore Coissy Gros, a native of Lyon, behind bars in Mauritius since August 2011 for illegal import of Subutex, and who had been found guilty of drug trafficking in late November 2014, has been convicted this Friday, January 30, 2015 by the Mauritian justice to a sentence of 20 years imprisonment.

As a reminder, Aurore Gros Coissy had been arrested at his descent of plane in Plaisance, August 19, 2011, by police officers from the anti-drug squad, with 1,673 tablets of Subutex - listed as a hard drug on the island - concealed inside a packet of biscuits.
Since the young woman of 27 years, from her cell, has always maintained her innocence, denouncing a plot by her former Mauritian boyfriend who would have given her the package as a simple gift.
The mother of her ex-boyfriend was also sentenced in this case to a term of imprisonment of 20 years.
