Mauritius: An oil storage terminal under consideration at Albion
The Mauritian government is planning to implement on the site of Pointe-aux-Caves, located in Albion, in the West of Mauritius and ten kilometers from Port-Louis, an oil storage terminal and coal.
 
Initial contacts have been established with the Indian authorities for logistical assistance in the development of this project amounted to 3 billion rupees (77 million).
 
The future site of oil storage capacity will be 160,000 tons of 8.75 hectares and has supply up to 15% the regional market (Indian Ocean, East Africa and South Africa).
 
A jetty will also be built to allow the transfer of petroleum products not far from shore.
