Mauritius: Air Mauritius has recorded net profits over 7 million euros in one year of financial exercise

After two fiscal years of difficulty, the national airline, Air Mauritius, recorded a net profit of 7.3 million euros for fiscal year 2013-2014 in the wake of a turnover valued at some 459 million euros.
"This positive result confirms that we have chosen the right strategy to ensure the recovery and sustainability of Air Mauritius in an economic and operational environment which remains difficult," said Dass Thomas, president of the Board of Directors of Air Mauritius, as reported by the newspaper L'Express of Mauritius.
For André Viljoen, Director-general of Air Mauritius, "this return to profitability * is also good news for the whole of the national economy, because Air Mauritius plays a leading role in tourism and for connectivity international and regional countries, for business travel and cargo".
* Profitability is the ratio between the updated cumulative cash flows and the capital invested.
