Mauritius: A woman will take oath for the presidency of the Republic in next midweek

The former Pro-Vice Chancellor of the University of Mauritius Ameenah Gurib-Fakim, whose name has been mentioned during the electoral campaign in case of victory of the alliance * Le Peuple (MSM-PMSD-ML) in the wake the last legislative elections for replacing Kailash Purryag at Château de Reduit for the presidency of the Republic of Mauritius, will take oath next Wednesday or Thursday.
The current President of the Republic, Kailash Purryag, thus is expected to submit his resignation this morning, as indicated by the newspaper L'Express of Mauritius. His mandate was scheduled to end in 2017. He had taken the oath July 21, 2012.
* Le Peuple The alliance brings together the Mouvement Socialiste Militant (MSM), le PMSD (Parti Mauricien Social Démocrate) et le Mouvement Libérateur (ML)
