Mauritius: A union project for the police force supported by South African police

Requested for years by over 10,000 Mauritian police, creating a union for members of the police force in Mauritius is now supported by union officers of South Africa.
After a first meeting on Tuesday with the Mauritian Minister of Labour, the four members of the South African delegation meeting on Thursday with the police authorities to discuss the merits of such an approach for the whole of the police force country.
It is to be remembered that 10 836 police officers and 893 women were counted in 2013 for a population of 1,295,500 inhabitants at December 31, 2013.
