Mauritius: A tanker blocked within one nautical mile from the port, the crew rationed in supply is at breaking point
An oil tanker flying the nigerian flag the Godshand and accommodating 32,000 tons of fuel, is currently blocked for a month, within one nautical mile of the port facilities of the Mauritian capital, Port Louis.

Onboard, the crew of 14 sailors of different nationalities (Nigerians, Indians, Ghanaians and Bangladeshis) is at breaking point and without salary for three months already.
The supplies rationed however the owner seems to be moved by the situation, as indicated by the newspaper Le Défi Quotidien.

"He responds to our calls and keep in touch with us. There are exchanges and it is rather positive. He has already sent a certain amount of money, but it is not enough. He promised us that he will do so by Friday ", says a member of the crew.

The sailors thus are considering to leave the Mauritian waters, by the weekend, and finally proceed to their home port, once after being paid by the ship-owner.
