Mauritius: A policeman arrested for soliciting a bribe during a roadside check
An alleged corrupted police was arrested by his colleagues for having solicited from a driver on Friday night, a bribe of 600 rupees (15 euro).

While license penalty points were officially launched during a road check operation, the officer offered a motorist caught speeding to cancel its legal proceeding, in exchange for money.

The driver thus gave him 200 rupees (5 euro), promising to give him the additional thereafter. But it is along with the police anti-corruption commission (ICAC) which he kept his word.

The police alleged corrupted was presented at the Mauritian justice in immediate appearance on Monday morning, being prosecuted for bribery in this case.

The latter fiercely denies the moment the serious charges of corruption that weigh against him.
