Mauritius: A patient dies of the influenza virus A (H1N1) in hospital

An elderly man of 35 years admitted to the hospital of Victoria in Candos since 3 weeks, after contracting the virus influenza A (H1N1), died yesterday Tuesday 13 August 2013, in intensive care of the establishment.

According to a source from the Ministry of Health of the island and interviewed by site, this would be the first death related to influenza virus A (H1N1) in Mauritius.

In early July, the Ministry of health revealed that 30 patients had contracted the A(H1N1) influenza virus in 2013 and was reassuring on these figures, urging the population to not succumb to panic, because the offending virus was treated as part of the seasonal flu.
