Mauritius: A minister victim of burglary in hotel




A Minister and his family were victims of theft in the hotel Trou - aux-Biches, located on the North coast of the island of Mauritius.  The suite where they were staying was burgled into during the night of Thursday, January 2. The Minister spent the holiday in the company of his son, daughter-in-law and two grandchildren.

Thieves broke into the suite at the time where they were having diner. The thieves took a sum of money, jewelry, an iPad, video games belonging to the children, and mobile phones. The booty is estimated at 3.00000 rupees (7260)

The police of Trou- aux-Biches and a team from the Criminal Investigation Division (CID) are conducting the investigation.
 
Usually, this place which was the subject of burglary was in good security and would be reserved for members of the Government.
 
 Investigators dismiss any idea that the hotel staff would be involved in this, relates the L’Express newspaper. Burglars would have broken in the hotel from the beach.
