Mauritius: A million rupees of cannabis plants uprooted
Several units of the drug squad of the Mauritian Police conducted last Friday to Sunday an extensive grubbing cannabis plants all over Mauritius.
 
400 cannabis plants valued at one million rupees (25,000 euros) market value have thus been uprooted by the police, including 236 plants uprooted on the central plateau of Mauritius.
 
Officers from the drug squad have used the helicopter to locate from the air cannabis plantations on the ground
 
An investigation was launched to find the owners of these illegal crops who can face up to 15 years of imprisonment for the offense to, as shown in the newspaper Le Matinal.
