Mauritius: A mechanic runs cars with used cooking oil converted to diesel
Very passionate on mechanics, Michael Chan, has developed a device for converting the cooking oil into diesel.
A method that works beautifully as the brilliant inventor and mechanic uses 150 liters of oil for rolling two of its vehicles.

"Anyway, I am not only interested in the business side of it. Rolling in my car with used cooking oil converted to diesel, I avoid discharge into the atmosphere about 6.2 tons CO2. I feel an inner satisfaction that I am contributing to preserving the environment", said Michael Chan to the newspaper Le Défi Quotidien.

For seven years, the mechanic Michael Chan has experienced success with his transformation process over nearly seven vehicles and without any mechanical problem.

An idea that germinated in his mind in January 2006, when the mechanic goes to a gas station and found that diesel costs at that time 28.50 rupees (70 cents) while at the same time the used cooking oil is sold at 22.5 per liter (56 cents) ...
