Mauritius: A fishing cooperative is embarking on the production of smoked Marlin

Fishermen in the cooperative of Trou d'Eau Doucein the east of Mauritius, decided to embark on the production of smoked fish with an initial investment estimated at about 800,000 rupees (19,512 euros).
At the start of the project, a monthly production of about 300 kilos of smoked marlin is programmed and should create in its wake between 15 and 20 jobs on site, as reported in the Le Défi Quotidien newspaper.
Direct selling of smoked marlin with hotels and restaurants on the island will be implemented in the process, before a potential supply in supermarkets of Mauritius later on and their export to the European continent with a consequent increase production locally.
