Mauritius: A driver of SAMU assaulted with sabers

Emergency services were on the alert for the holidays of the end of year to ensure medical care of necessities to those in need. On this Thursday morning, January 2, as in usual, they are dispatched to an intervention at Quatre Bornes, Mauritius, after a call received at 01:50.
 
Once there, the SAMU ambulance (Service of aid medical urgency) including the driver, a nurse and a doctor were copiously insulted by relatives of the patient. The driver was attacked by sabers and they even ransacked the ambulance vehicle.

According to their versions, they arrived seven minutes later, as reported in the Le Défi Quotidien site. The relatives of the patient have behaved violently towards them. At some point, they started to manhandle the driver before him tying two shots of sabre.
 
The latter was wounded in the shoulder and the right hand. They then turned to two other colleagues. The nurse and the doctor managed to escape. Finally, they ransacked the ambulance with stone kick.
 
The driver was admitted to Victoria Hospital in Candos and his condition is considered serious. The police opened an investigation.
