Mauritius: A bullet caliber 7.62, "just a decorative object" for the accused
A resident of Rose Hill, in the center of Mauritius, was sentenced by the court to pay a fine of 640 euro for illegal possession of ammunition.

For the holding of ammunition at his home must be linked to a weapons possession license issued by the authorities, said the judge in his judgment.

The police anti-drug brigade seized during a raid in March 2011, a 7.62 caliber bullet at his home.

The defendant simply said not to be aware of the law regarding ammunition in Mauritius and the ball found was a "mere decorative object."

The man must, however, pay a fine of 640 euro, despite his lack of legislation of Mauritius.
