The crime of the Irish tourist 28 years old, Michaela Harte-Mc Areavey, found strangled in early 2011 after a robbery gone wrong in her hotel room in Mauritius, has today a new episode.

A British reportage conducted by the Irish investigative journalist, Donald MacIntyre, which will be broadcast on CBS Reality on June 30, after six months of investigation, sows confusion on the role played by the security guard of the former hotel Legends, already at the heart of the case, on suspicion of theft in the first place and whose charges of robbery and murder had been struck off on March 1.

Witness for the prosecution during the trial in July 2012 initiated against two other employees of the luxury hotel (acquitted at trial), the guard has confessed during the reportage having helped to revive the Irish tourist, which would explain the presence of his DNA on the body of Michaela Harte-Mc Areavey. Elements that according to the Irish journalist have never been discussed in the wake of this tragedy, as related in the newspaper L'Express of Mauritius.

The report also criticizes the amateurism of the Mauritian police, because some samples of crucial importance in this kind of homicide have not been made.

Investigative reporting at the heart of Michaela Harte case also suggests that exhumation of the victim should be made to revive a stalled investigation.

As a reminder, Michaela Harte-Mc Areavey was killed in January 2011 during her honeymoon in Mauritius, in the room 1025 of the former Legends Hotel.

Went searching cakes for her tea in her hotel room, the young tourist would have surprised his or her attackers before being strangled.
