Mauritius 785 million rupees for improving the distribution of water and stop water wastage

The Mauritian government has released the sum of 785 million rupees* for the 2015-2016 fiscal period, which started Wednesday, July 1. The authorities want to improve water distribution in the country.
However, with 25% of pipe, of which ssome dating back to almost 100 years, only 43% of the treated water reached the consumers' taps last year.
The Government is firmly determined to stop this waste, while frequently water shortages are recurring in several regions of the island and even though the hill reservoirs and water tables are filled to their maximum.
