Mauritius: 3,000 unemployed graduates paid to attend retraining courses

While the unemployment in Mauritius is currently affecting 7.8% of the active population, including about 3,000 unemployed graduates, the Minister of Finance Vishnu Lutchmeenaraidoo has recently announced that those qualified young people will be allocated an annual allocation of 80,000 rupees for * refresher training courses within the University of Mauritius, and in order to be competitive in the job providers sectors on the island.
The campus of Montagne-Blanche, Pamplemousses and Réduit welcome these new students with courses offered in the fields of health, management and tourism.
* One euro roughly equivalent to 40 rupees
