Mauritius: 270 million rupees to tackle climate change on the island




The Mauritian authorities have recently received a grant of 270 million rupees * from the Kyoto Protocol's Adaptation Fund and which provides financial support for the adaptation projects or programs related to climate change in developing countries.
 
A subsidy bestowed and announced at the end of last week by the Minister of the Environment, Raj Dayal, during a workshop on the side of Balaclava dedicated to storm surges.
 
As a reminder, the Adaptation Fund is supported in large part by international tax introduced on Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) initiated by the Kyoto Protocol.
