Mauritius: 243 flights identified in a little more than two months

According to official figures from the Mauritius police services, 243 flights were recorded on the island during the period from 1 August to 8 October 2013.

Flights committed on public roads or perpetrated during burglary with violence or simple burglary led to the questioning of 239 persons suspected of being the perpetrators of these offences.

In August 2013, the Mauritian police thus identified 113 cases of theft and arrested 112 suspects.

The following month in September, a slight decrease was recorded with 97 flights listed for the same number of suspects arrested and imprisoned.

1 to 8 October 2013, no less than 33 cases of theft were treated by the police, with the indictment of 36 suspected thieves who must answer for their actions before the courts, as indicated by the newspaper Le Défi Quotidien.
