Mauritius: 21 wind turbines constructed in the North of the island by the French group Quadran

The construction work of a wind farm located at Plaine des Roches, in the North of Mauritius, and consisting of 11 wind turbines in the first instance have begun late. The first phase of this huge project should nevertheless be operational in early 2016 and cost nearly 20 million euros. The first wind turbine out of the ground in the month of September.
Two central power production deploying some 18 megawatts with 21 wind turbines deployed representing a total investment of 32 million euros thus will be constructed at the initiative of the Sugar Investment Trust (SIT) and French Quadran group, a leader in production green energy in France.
The electricity generated will subsequently sold to the national electricity company of Mauritius (CEB) to power its network.
As a reminder, the CEB wants to introduce in its network by 2015 firstly to renewable energies (photovoltaic and wind) for 60 megawatts. Eventually, officials of the CEB want to secure 35% of electricity from renewable energy, and, in 2025.
