Mauritius: 1.1 million tourists estimated in 2015

The Mauritian authorities aim for the welcoming of 1.1 million tourists in 2015 on the island. Tourist sector revenues could amount to 48.5 billion rupees * this year, according to the official organisation Statistics Mauritius, and experience an increase of approximately 9.5%.
As a reminder, 1,038,968 tourists walked on the Mauritian soil the previous year, an increase of 4.6% as compared to tourist arrivals registered in 2013 and 993,106 tourists listed. 91,128 tourists landed in Mauritius on holiday in February 2015. They were 78 984 one year earlier, an increase of 15.4%. The European market constitutes in itself 56 770 travelers up by 10.6%.
