Madagascar: Truck drivers prohibited to travel between 5 and 21 hours in Tananarive

While the Ministry of Transportation had recently prohibited the circulation of vehicles over 10 tons from 5 to 21 hours in the capital Tananarive in order to regulate traffic and avoid too many traffic jams that paralyze the city during peak hours, truck drivers decided to oppose to this measure yesterday, Tuesday.
Road transport professionals have decided to start within 72 hours an indefinite strike if the authorities do not fully revise their copy.
As a reminder, the average annual growth rate of the automobile park of Tananarive is estimated annually to around 7% over the last ten years.
