Madagascar: Three deaths from the pneumonic plague in the province of Tamatave

Three deaths have lately been identified in the region of Alaotra Mangoro, in the province of Tamatave (East of Madagascar), after these persons have been infected with the infectious virus of pneumonic plague.

As a reminder, the health authorities in Madagascar had decided several days after in mid-December to suspend till April the rat extermination campaign in the Island.
The reason given by the Ministry of Health was that the propagation of the plague in the country was under control after having experienced an epidemic peak in recent months.
