Madagascar: The trial of the presumed killers of a French couple in 2012 started

The trial for the murder of a French couple Gerald Fontaine and Johanna Delahaye, on 12 April 2012 on the beach of Tulear, starts this Thursday on the Island.
Ten suspects, including two French are accused in the case. Among them, six Malagasy citizens are in preventive detention for more than two years.
Arrested in possession of personal property (credit card and Smartphone) which belonged to the victims, two of the suspects have accused three other alleged accomplices.
A sixth Malagasy was also imprisoned in the course of the investigation before being freed about a month ago.
Four of the accused were absent at the beginning of the criminal hearing including the alleged backer of the double murder.
Two relatives of the victims, the son of Gerald Fontaine and the father of Johanna Delahaye, will attend the debates in Madagascar and will be represented by two lawyers: Me André Randranto and Me Franck Bertone, specially arrived from France.
