Madagascar: The production of red algae employs 400 people in Tulear

The African Development Bank (ADB) announced earlier this week at its headquarters in Ankorondrano its latest report on its achievements in the Island since 2007 until today.
The project to support fisherman of Tulear and has been funded with the release of 9.4 million dollars in 2007 is among its achievements.
This project aimed to promote sustainable development within the community of the people of the sea.
The report emphasises that more than 400 people, including 300 women are currently working in the production of red algae.
The project has also facilitated the transfer in the area of operation of the most productive algae strain from the north Madagascar.
