Madagascar: The hospital ship Mercy Ships on the East Coast of the Island for free treatment to thousands of patients

It has been almost a month since the hospital ship of the US NGO Mercy Ships has landed on the side of Toamasina on the east coast of Madagascar for an extended stay of eight months for free treatment a few thousand people in the Island.
Approximately 8,000 patients have already presented to volunteers and 500 of them have by now got an appointment for surgery.
“We take care of only of six types of diseases; tumors, cataracts, thyroid, club feet, beaks hares, plastic surgery and burns fistula operations. What is interesting is that these days, there are people who walked or came by canoe, who traveled several days to come to us, "says Roland Decorvet head of Mercy Ships.
