Madagascar: The green gold field regains scented colors with a production of vanilla on the rise

The Green gold in Madagascar has regained scented colors after a year 2013 with mixed results for the sector.
The production of vanilla should thus reach in 2014 some 1,800 tons for export with a selling price estimated at more than 75 dollars per kilo, as indicated in the Midi Madagasikara newspaper.
As a reminder, Madagascar produces more than 60% of vanilla exported to the four corners of the planet.
80,000 farmers in Madagascar intensively live on culture of this orchid fertilized by hand.
A cottage industry employing in large plantations in the North of the \island, in the heart of a wet tropical, cheap labour.
