Madagascar: The former President of the Transition, Andry Rajoelina, elected freehand to the head of his party

The former president of Transition, Andry Rajoelina, has been elected this weekend, during a General Assembly, freehand by unanimity of his members from the party MAPAR - which stands for "With the president Andry Rajoelina" - he has himself created in 2013 on the eve of the presidential and legislative elections.
The MAPAR party had obtained 49 seats in the legislative election of December 20, 2013, as reported by the Midi Madagasikara newspaper.
According to the explanations of the MAPAR spokesman Pierre Houlder Ramaholimiasy, "at the time of the creation of the MAPAR, Andry Rajoelina could not lead the party since he was still President of the Transition." On the other hand, as he no more occupies this post, he has fully the right".
As a reminder, 35 members belonging to the MAPAR party, joined in mid-April 2014 the presidential movement of Hery Rajaonarimampianina in the wake of the recent appointment to the position of Prime Minister of Roger Kolo and the participation of the Minister of the function public Jean de Dieu Maharante, labeled MAPAR before joining the Government.
