Madagascar: The Malagasy agriculture strongly assisted by the international donors amounting to 600 million dollars and 18 million euros

While the Malagasy President Hery Rajaonarimampianina, listed as one of his priorities, the development the agricultural sector in the Island, the authorities are waiting for an upcoming release of substantial funds from international donors.
Thus, the African Development Bank (AfDB) must submit 600 million dollars and the European Union should financially support the country's agriculture through the allocation 18 million euros.
As a reminder, 70% of the Malagasy population is dependent on agriculture for a living, some 14 million people. According to the latest figures from the Ministry of Agriculture, the agricultural sector is the main source of employment in Madagascar since 82% of the active population works there.
