Madagascar: The French Development Agency and the WWF hand in hand to preserve the mangroves of the Island

The French Development Agency and the International NGO protection of nature and the environment WWF gave their consent for a convention designed to fund a project for the preservation the mangroves of Madagascar.
The Malagasy mangroves situated on the western coastline of the Big Island in the Melaky region include the ability to cope with climate change. Human action carries too much of mangrove resources (fishing, firewood, collecting crabs, etc.).
Philippe Germa, Director General of WWF France, "WWF wishes with this project to establish a more sustainable fish and crab industries, compatible with the preservation of mangroves and income generating for local people."
As a reminder, some 325,000 hectares of mangroves located on the Malagasy soil dropped sharply by 21% in one decade due to the savage exploitation of this ecological wealth.
