Madagascar: Police officers of the capital, in combat gear, consign for the Independence Day

While Madagascar celebrates on June 26 the 55th anniversary of its independence in a tense political atmosphere, the Ministry of the Interior has lately consign all officers of the capital Tananarive.
The security Forces are expected to wear their uniforms of combat and be prepared to intervene in order to respond to any terrorist threat.
The two-day celebration (June 25 and 26) and will be placed under heavy police surveillance with excavations and unannounced inspections. Security around from the Stadionul Municipal Mahamasina will be especially strengthened.
As a reminder, Saturday, January 25, 2014 a grenade had exploded in Tananarive resulting in several deaths and some thirty wounded close to the Mahamasina Municipal Stadium which hosted the investiture ceremony of the Malagasy president Hery Rajaonarimampianina.
