Madagascar: Over 4.7 million dollars released in 2015 by the United Nations for maternal health

The Ministry of Health in Madagascar has been allocated for the year 2015 as part of the development of its activities and particularly for the purchase of drugs for infant medicine and other contraceptive products a sum of 4,731,400 dollars from the United Nations population Fund (UNFPA).
Two million dollars will be thus used to supply the hospitals of the Island, medical centers and clinics in drugs essentially for strengthening maternal health in the Island.
As a reminder, 478 deaths per 100,000 births have been identified in 2012. The Malagasy authorities want to reduce this rate to 122 deaths per 100,000 births by the end of 2015. Ten women do not survive daily during childbirth in the island.
