Madagascar: Outbreak suspected in the cattle herd

Madagascar: Outbreak suspected in the cattle herd
The Malagasy health authorities are concerned about a possible emerging epidemic of "cowbriose" within the cattle population of the center of the Big Island.

The town Ikalamavony is thus badly hit by the disease.

A dozen of oxen, with the signs of rabid animals, died in the space of two days.
Strict instructions to bury the dead animals were given to farmers to avoid any risk of meat consumption of beef.
Future results of known analysis will confirm or disprove the hypothesis of an epidemic "cowbriose" as the site relates.
