Madagascar: Opening of Embassy In South Korean Grand Island before the end of the year

The new ambassador plenipotentiary and non-resident of South Korea, Choi Yeong-Ho, presented last week his credentials to the Malagasy foreign minister, Beatrice Atallah.

The South Korean diplomat did so by the Minister with the intention of the authorities of his country to open an embassy of the Republic of Korea in the Big Island, by the end of 2015.

A loan agreement between the two countries was also signed. $ 30 million should soon be released to help Madagascar to cope with various natural disasters affecting the country. The rehabilitation of the main road RN35 between Morondava Mahabo Ménabé in the Western region of the Big Island has also been programmed.

Cooperation between Madagascar and South Korea dates back to 1963. It was revived in 1993 after a short break. Trade between the two nations has attracted in its wake more than 200 million.
