Madagascar: Marc Ravalomanana suspend for an indeterminate duration his participation in the national reconciliation process

The former Malagasy President, Marc Ravalomanana, still under house arrest, but free to travel within the country has decided on Monday evening to immediately withdraw the national reconciliation processes in the Island and this, for an indeterminate duration .
Last Saturday, Marc Ravalomanana had been prohibited by the authorities to speak and attend a political rally at Antsirabe, the third largest city in Madagascar.
"What is the use of the process if I am victim of a fury and that I am forbidden to speak in public, even in front of my followers? For now, I suspend my participation in the national reconciliation process because I think the regime treats me like a real prisoner. Besides, if this situation is not improving and the plan made no effort to halt these restrictions, it is possible that I will soon leave the process "said Marc Ravalomanana.
As a reminder, Albert Zafy and Rajoelina have already slammed the door in mid-February of the meetings under the auspices of Christian Churches in Madagascar (FFKM).
The current president, Hery Rajaonarimampianina, and four former presidents namely Andry Rajoelina, Marc Ravalomanana, Didier Ratsiraka and Albert Zafy had started since December 2014 talks on national reconciliation of all the political forces in the Island.
