Madagascar: Madacompost turns organic waste into fertilizer
A Malagasy local business Madacompost and Gevalor, French association of Orleans specializing in the treatment and recovery of municipal waste to produce compost from organic household waste of the discharge from the city of Mahajanga in the north west of the island, which will then be used as a natural fertilizer by farmers.

Thirty permanent are thus employed at Madacompost and between 60 and 100 workers daily accompany according to the needs of the work site and the volume of waste in the municipality in which the company has signed a partnership agreement.

Women who collect waste in the landfill have also founded their association called Mihary, in order to meet the tuition fees for their children through this contract.
