Madagascar: Increase in the price of vegetables on market stalls of the capital

In the wake of the bad weather and floods that had hit the Big Island during the rainy season in February the prices of vegetables in Tananarive markets rose sharply including brèdes.
The Shopping cart of grocery was estimated in January at about 4000 ariarys *. Since a few days, at least 10,000 ariarys in needed to carry out the traditional "soubique."
A box tomato of about twenty pounds thus is sold around 25,000 ariarys against 15,000 ariarys before. The green beans are now ripped out at 2,500 ariarys while at the beginning of the year it was 1,600 ariary per kilo.
