Madagascar: Humpback whales in honor of a world congress on the island of Sainte-Marie in late June

While the Whale Festival will begin on July 4 on Sainte-Marie island and will enable professionals and local tourism stakeholders to mobilize themselves around the event that wants to include the promotion of Madagascar, a global conference will take place as from June 29 to July 3 on the coastal island for the protection and scientific research around the humpback whales.
Cetaceans will be the heart of this international grouping with the thematic "Humpback Whale, conservation and development lever" with between 100 and 150 delegates expected to attend and from the four corners the world. The association for the protection of cetaceans, CETAMADA, is thus at the initiative by the Whale Festival and equally of the World Congress.
As a reminder, a thousand marine mammals, including many humpback whales converge from mid-June to October in the channel of Sainte Marie Island, located along the eastern coast of Madagascar to breed. Then from the month of November, the whales begin their long journey from Madagascar to the rich waters of the Antarctic.
