Madagascar: Hery Rajaonarimampianina advocates the national reconciliation

The new Malagasy president, Hery Rajaonarimampianina, on his return from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia where he participated in the 22nd Summit of Heads of State and Government of the African Union, expressed this weekend his intention to implement a policy of "national reconciliation" in the island by reaching out to the opposition after five years of infighting at the top of the State.
"As I've always said, reconciliation is very important. You will see with the establishment of the Government, but also in everything we undertake", said Hery Rajaonarimampianina, as reported by the newspaper Les Nouvelles of the Madagascar.
"Reconciliation will not remain at the stage of the Government Organisation. This is national reconciliation and it encompasses various fields... There were sequel on the political, social as well as economic plan, left by the history of the country to which remedy. Just like the implementation of effective decentralisation, there's more left behind", said the new tenant of Ambohitsirohitra and who insisted on its willingness to reinstate the rule of law in Madagascar.
To recall, on the sidelines of the Summit of the African Union in Addis Ababa, the southern Africa development community (SADC) returned to Madagascar as a member of the Organisation, after having lifted its suspension recorded in March 2009 following the seizure of power of Andry Rajoelina and the exile of ousted president Marc Ravalomanana in South Africa.
