Madagascar: Gold at the heart of an illicit trafficking, the police on the alert
Madagascar police is not idle in terms of seizures of gold. On the parallel market, the precious metal supplies a very lucrative business across the country.
 
The police authorities however halted by stopping the phenomenon about 47 kilograms of gold during the last two years. In 2011, not less than 30 kg of gold which have been seized in Madagascar and in 2012 the figure rise to about 17 kg.

In addition, the Malagasy authorities have managed to score points against the smuggling of gold exported to the islands of the Indian Ocean, including a circuit privileged to Comoros, with sixty pounds that have not been able to use the traditional export sectors.
 
Seizures of industrial stones, like malachite and quartz, are also not left with 402 tones recovered by police Madagascar.
