Madagascar: Ginger exports in strong decrease despite a growth in global demand

Exports Malagasy ginger in August 2014 experienced a sharp decline according to customs of Madagascar while at the same time worldwide demand continues to grow.
Demand from Africa and the countries of the Indian Ocean area also stood at approximately 60 tons monthly.
Thus, the export of ginger from the island has drained last August in its wake some 12 tons abroad against 32 tons registered to foreign markets in July 2014.
As a reminder, Madagascar exports for the time being his ginger destined for the metropolitan France, the United States, the Netherlands and the island of Mayotte, as reported by the newspaper Courrier of Madagascar.
