Madagascar: France will support the reintegration of Madagascar at the International Organisation of Francophony

France will support the reinstatement of Madagascar within the international organisation of Francophony (OIF) in the wake of the recent election of Hery Rajaonarimampianina.
"Madagascar must return to the OIF, in any case I will support in the name of France the reintegration of Madagascar at the Permanent Council of the Francophony in March 2014," said on Radio France Internationale the Minister Responsible for the Francophony, Yamina Benguigui.
The latter will thus move on Saturday in Madagascar to represent France at the investiture of the newly elected president, Hery Rajaonarimampianina.

"The election of the Malagasy president marks a turning point," said the Minister, stating that Madagascar, "the largest francophone country in the Indian Ocean" was "a very isolated country since 2009". "We all want that the country recover. Let’s give a bit of credit to the new president", said the Minister responsible for the Francophony Yamina Benguigui.
As a reminder, Madagascar was suspended from the OIF in April 2009, following the rise to power of Andry Rajoelina and exile of President Marc Ravalomanana deposed in March 2009.
