Madagascar: France wants a quick exit from the crisis

While 121 of the 151 elected deputies sitting in the National Assembly of Madagascar have voted an overwhelming majority on Tuesday evening for the dismissal of the Malagasy President Hery Rajaonarimampianina, French diplomacy keeps itself informed of the political situation in the Island and wish a quick exit from the crisis to maintain democratic stability.
"France is closely monitoring the developments in Madagascar. It hopes that a political outcome could be found quickly, so as not jeopardize the achievements following the election of President Rajaonarimampianina and preserving stability. It is a condition for the revival of the economic and social development of Madagascar, which had undergone a halt during the long crisis of the years 2009-2013, "says on the side of the Quai d'Orsay.
