Madagascar: France calls for constructive dialogue and appeasement

While Madagascar's High Constitutional Court has postponed on Saturday the proceedings relating to revocation of the President voted by deputies on 26 May, the French authorities have appealed to all stakeholders to engage in constructive dialogue.
The French government also wants a calmer political climate currently exacerbated in the Island.
Paris "calls upon all parties to comply with the decision rendered by the High Constitutional Court on the situation of the President of the Republic of Madagascar," said the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
"We also call upon the parties to a frank and constructive dialogue and assist in finding a climate of appeasement and stability in the best interests the people of Madagascar," he said.
