Madagascar: Former president Marc Ravalomanana again announces imminent return in the island

The former president of Madagascar, deposed and exiled since 2009 in South Africa, Marc Ravalomanana, announced Monday, September 22, 2014 the his imminent return in the island to supporters gathered in his stronghold of Magro Behoririka in Tananarive.

Without specifying the exact date of his return to his native country, Marc Ravalomanana thus insisted that the meeting which took place yesterday morning in Pretoria in South Africa between several members of his delegation and the Troika of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) was "satisfactory and conclusive".

"Both parties have agreed to work together to achieve my return in the island", assured the former Malagasy president, Marc Ravalomanana, as reported by the newspaper L'Express of Madagascar.

As a reminder, last August the 34th Summit of the SADC to Victoria Falls on the Zimbabwe had "urged all Malagasy stakeholders to adhere to the roadmap of the CFDCS and to ensure its full implementation", including article 20 of the roadmap that puts in place the return without any condition of political exiles in Madagascar.
