Madagascar: Economic operators welcome the renewal of AGOA till 2025

While the Malagasy exports through AGOA - allowing the exemption of customs duties for goods of the Malagasy textile industry towards the United States - have officially resumed since June 2014, the administration of Barack Obama has renewed in late June the means for AGOA eligible countries.
The African Growth and Opportunity Act, which created more than 26,790 jobs between January and April 2015 in the country, and will be extended to September 2025. A new satisfactory welcomed by Malagasy economic operators.
As a reminder, the Malagasy authorities had forecast in July 2014 the creation of approximately 200,000 jobs in the country in five years.
